Promarkers save the day....

Hi Everyone,

I made an facinator for a wedding recently and using a net material as the base, I was unable to get blue, so bought white instead and then used my darkest blue of my promarkers and coloured in the net, I did not waste any ink as I held the material up in the air and then brushed the promarker over twice to get a good colour, let it dry and then constructed my facinator. I managed to find a band with a blue/grey flower and feathers, added some navy ribbon and a few clear gems on the grey leaves, secured it altogether with a needle and thread. I then wore it to the wedding, matching the facinator to my dress colour. I now have a taste of making these little things and would love to do a course to learn how to make hats and facinators professionally!

At long last a card!!!

Hi Everyone, At long last I have a few cards to show you, I made these a few weeks ago, but had not published them.

This card image is from Lilly of the Valley, just love the Lily of the Valley products, The background card and paper, swirls and sentiment are all from the latest Anna Griffin products. I had this piece of lace which I got when I was at the Harrogate Show a few years ago, the roses are from Wild  Orchid Crafts, the  little leaves are from a punch that I have had for a number of years.  I have decorated the inside of the card as simply as I could and because the person who received this cards will be getting married, I thought that adding something blue to her card so that she can use it on her wedding day. I have "rubbed" out the message and the persons name.

This card has been made from Anna Griffin's collections, following her instructions on her suggested design sheet, its nice to try these out, again I have "rubbed" out the message. I found this kit a delight, its for making quick cards and easy cards, I like to design and make my one off cards, but there are times that your mind has other things working on it and you just need a easy to make card. This card was received and put on display and is still on display and their wedding anniversary was a few weeks ago, this is the only card still on display... goes to show even easy home made cards go down a treat.

Thanks for stopping by, if you want to leave any  comments, it will be a pleasure to read them.

Take care and happy crafting everyone

At long last .....

Hi everyone, I just want to apologize for not being active on my blog for a long while. Since the arrival of my Parents my time has been split with getting a new job and helping them settle into their new rented accommodation. I have made a few cards which I will get round to showing you all as soon as I can. Just as I thought I was getting on top of everything, my Father has had another stroke, last year April was his first and today he had another one, my poor Mother was on her own as I left on Sunday to come back home, my weekends have just not been mine for a while, not that I am complaining, but am getting a bit of withdrawal symptoms for crafting. Anyway my Father is now in hospital and hopefully he will make a good recovery and be home by the weekend. So again I might not be here that often, but promise the first moment I have that I can upload some photos and share any news I will.

Get well soon Dad.

Thanks so much for listening and visiting my blog.

Debbie T.

PS Thanks Tim  for all your support.

A few travel goody bags....

Hi Everyone, First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has visited my blog, its been amazing to see how many visits from all over the world that I have received, my Mimic Creations post  had over 150 hits since Friday last week!

Now these goody bags that I have decorated were for my Parents when they landed at Heathrow on the 29th March, after a 11 hour flight and still had about 4 hours car travel to their destination. I put a few items in the bags for their drive home which I am told were well received as I was not able to collect them and thanks to my Uncle who had the biggest car to take all their luggage!.

I got some white paper bags and made these large toppers and then glued them onto the bags. I used items from my craft stash and distressed the papers and toppers. I took the chipboard letters and went round them with my gold ink pen and distressed DAD using inks. I am sure you will recognise the images I used.

I have also added some photos I took when we were at our Cottage, outside of Horncastle in Lincolnshire which I am sure was over 100 years old, it really looked like it! The sun came out very briefly and my Father went to sit out with my little doggies while I did some crafting inside, note the dogs were in their beds, and their toys not far away. I am sure that my Father was having a bit of a snooze in this photo (haha).

My Mother was upstairs and I caught her here looking out of the window.

Above right is the front of the cottage with the small front door, really if you are over 5'7 you would have had to duck to go through, makes you think how small people were all those years ago!

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

My Mimic Creations CD Rom Designed cards for the Create and Craft POW launch today

Hi Everyone, thank you for visiting my blog. This is very exciting launch of the Mimic Creations CDRom on Create and Craft today as their pick of the week. I was very lucky to be chosen to take part in making these samples and loved every minute from putting the cd in my laptop to the memories that all the images brought back to me. I did my samples whilst on a Easter break in Lincolnshire with my Parents who have just arrived in the UK so my crafting stash was very limited, I got my material five minutes before I departed on my trip with printer, laptop and a suitcase of other crafting goodies and a few bits a pieces but mainly card kits, my two little doggies, my mothers little bird that was flown over in January, food and very few of my clothes! A very full corsa. Now back to the samples....

I used  what was sent to me and very little else, I chose the images from the cd which had so much it took me about an hour just deciding how I was going to do these cards as their were different ways of printing them out, and then envelopes to go with everything, backing papers and the different styles to cut out the images... I eventually printed out the 8 cards and then set about putting my brain cells to work, I had with me very few bits, glitter, buttons, silver roses, glues bits of ribbon, (the big one is off a birthday present I got), I did not have my cutting board with me so could not cut any shapes etc. I must say that with ease anyone, does not matter how much experience you have can make these cards, I have made these simple cards without any cutting machine or over embellishing the cards. I found that the printer ink was not used up, but then I always look at the amount of colour on the images and chose accordingly, I also find that my red is used up the most in all my craft printing so always have a spare, but in this case I did not need it.

I hope you like my cards and please if you can check out the POW on www.createandcraft.tv  you will see more of the samples and whats on the CDRom.

Thanks for stopping by.  Debbie T

What a start to April

Hi Everyone, sorry for not posting anything yet on my blog for April, I have a few items to put on but they are not on my camera so have to wait for the photos to be sent to me. I had a BIG birthday at the beginning of the month and was very lucky to spend it with my Mother and Father and some close relatives, my Parents have now arrived in the UK to live so its been a very busy few weeks and on top of me having a birthday there were another 3 in the same week and a Anniversary for an Uncle and Aunt and the lovely thing was that they all live with in a few miles of each other in Lincolnshire, I am the only one to live about 2 hours drive away so I stayed in a cottage on the farm with my little doggies (the cottage was I am sure 100 years old !) and my Parents. I managed to do some crafting in between all the other things. The weather was not great but it was fine with a fire in the lounge it was nice a cosy. I got same lovely gifts and a lovely charm watch from my Sister and jewellery and clothes plus craft goodies (Thank you everyone) - how spoilt am I ! I am now back at home and getting back to my normal routines.

I will be putting some lovely DT cards on my blog on Friday at 12.01 UK time so please stop by to have a look, I am sure you will enjoy them and they will bring you many a happy memory.

Happy Crafting

Banners for Kids-n Bunnies and blossoms hop March 25th

Yesterday and Today (March 24-25), 30+fantastic papercrafters have come together to create Spring-themed banners. They will then donate these banners to Ellen http://cardmonkey-business.blogspot.com/ , who works as Admissions Coordinator at Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC), www.pediatricspecialty.com.
PSC is a long-term care facility for specialneeds children who are medically-fragile and/or technologically-dependent. The babies, children and youths at

PSC range in age from birth to 21, and are admitted from all over the country.
Some are infants, born prematurely and beforetheir lungs have had a chance to mature. Others have serious birth defects, illnesses or injuries from accidents that cause them to need tender loving carein a home-like environment -- many for their lifetimes.

The first stop on this hop would be :  http://cardmonkey-business.blogspot.com/

Our banners are meant to cheer the young patients, their families, and the staff at PSC. Here is the banner that I made and have sent to Ellen to decorate a child's room:

My banner has been made from plastic bunting with the United Kingdom flag on as this is such an important year for the Queen I thought I would bring this into my banner, I have used different colours of bunnies and flowers to give it some feel of spring. I have used My Craft Studio CD for the bunnies and printed them out and then sat cutting them out and taped them onto the banners, the flowers were also taped, it is difficult to stick things onto plastic, but I did the best that I can. This banner is a long one, over 3ft long. Hope you enjoy it...

My Fair Lady Blog Hop 17th March 09h00 GMT

Welcome to the My Fair Lady Blog Hop which has been organised by Gill M at Creationsbygillm. This hop is for those of us who like vintage type ladies and glitter and bling. If you have come to my page first please click on Gill's link http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com and start your blog hop there, if you have come http://debbeescds.blogspot.co.uk/  you are on the right track as this hop is for one day only.  Thank you for hopping with us today and hope that you loved all the interpretations of My fair ladies!

I used Hunkydory cardstock, the elements are from the same kit which I got some time ago, the flowers, ribbons, sparkles and stickers I had in my craft stash. I made this card using 3 card blanks which are all stuck together forming from above a cross, I then decorated each card so that when it is standing you have something all round to look at. It folds into a A4 style envelope and so its easy to post. I put ribbon bows on each end of the cards at different levels so that when the card is lying flat in a A4 the ribbons form part of the decoration. I have also put in some sentiments and words that I think relate to that time. This sort of card would be nice on a table where it can been seen from all angles and not just put on a shelf in the living room!

I hope that you have enjoyed my craft project of my Fair Lady, it would be great if you could add your comments as that's what I enjoy the most when doing hops, is hearing what everyone else thinks. Please click on http://lorbysworld.blogspot.co.uk/ to carry on with the hop. Happy crafting everyone and thank you for stopping by.

a Very Important Date.... congratulations card!

Hi Everyone.

I have been playing with MCS (My Craft Studio) books with the different images in and also doing other projects for  later posts  This one is one of the images. I don't usually do these kind of cards but gave it a go anyway. I used a nice copper coloured card which I got last year and then the bits a pieces from the "A very important date" MCS book. I added blue ribbon from my craft stash and a glaze to the tunic that the rabbit is wearing. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your days of crafting.
